Our responsibility

At Bagheera, we strive for sustainable development that permeates the entire company and our partners. We work with an environmental long-term perspective regarding our products and the way they are manufactured. With our membership in the Chemicals Group, we have access to tools to communicate the high requirements that exist within the chemicals legislation REACH ( Registration , Evaluation , Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals ). To further ensure the content of our products, we have chosen to certify many of our garments according to the Oeko-Tex standard.

We consistently strive to find suppliers who share our views on environmental issues. One way to do this is to ensure that certifications, such as Oeko-Tex and Bluesign, are available on materials and accessories wherever possible.

All manufacturing takes place at external producers in China and Sweden. All are selected by us and meet our requirements.

CODE OF CONDUCT “Code of Conduct”

As a company, we have a responsibility to both our customers and our suppliers to produce the right things in the right way.

We are constantly working to improve our producers’ working methods and one step in that direction has been to create codes of conduct that our suppliers must follow.

The codes of conduct are based on the ILO’s core conventions on workers’ conditions and rights regarding wages, working hours, work environment, discrimination, forced labor, humane treatment, fire safety, as well as national laws and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

All producers must sign the code of conduct and thereby commit to complying with the requirements. This can be verified through unannounced audits by our own staff or by an independent third party.

CHINA OFFICE

Upholding the code of conduct is of great importance, which is why we have established our own production office called AVEXIA in Xiamen, China, since 2008. The establishment of the office was a step for Bagheeras’ continued development.

The office functions, among other things, as a control and monitoring body. The themes governed by AVEXIA include:

– Inform suppliers and producers about Bagheeras Code of Conduct.
– Plan and administer audits (evaluation process) to certify suppliers and producers. Audits are conducted by independent third parties (accreditation bodies).
– Inform manufacturers and suppliers about prohibited/restricted substances in Bagheeras products.
– Plan and administer testing of chemicals. The tests are conducted by an independent third party.

Environment

At Bagheera, we care about the environment, people and all other living beings. As a consumer, you should feel safe when you shop with us. We take responsibility for ensuring that our clothes meet strict requirements for function and environmental responsibility.

By working with the environment in focus, we also work towards sustainable development, i.e. “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (Brundtland Report).

Our environmental work is constantly ongoing and we constantly strive to improve.

One way is to work with eco-labelling. All our layer 1, layer 2 garments and fleece garments are therefore labelled with Oeko-Tex and many of our shell garments have the environmentally friendly and fluorocarbon-free impregnation Bionic Finish. This is something we are proud of. Another way is to produce functional and timeless garments with high quality that can be inherited and used by more people instead of being thrown away.
